Welding Systems - Laser Welding
Laser Welding Can Be Challenging
With so many factors affecting the quality of your weld (material selection, joint design, part cleanliness, shield gas delivery, beam positioning, seam tracking, etc.) you need the most experienced integrator available to ensure the quality of your final output.
Experience
PECo has been integrating laser welding systems and manufacturing lines for over 20 years and welding systems for over 60. More than 260 PECo laser welding systems are installed worldwide.
Our experience gives us the edge when it comes to designing and developing the most effective laser welding systems on the market. From this experience we have optimized our laser welding platform to always include features such as vibration isolators, poke-yoke part verification, PECo’s unique positive pressure beam delivery system, and real-time weld power monitoring.
Product & System Development
With highly trained and highly experienced engineers, PECo is available to consult on your product development (material selection, joint design) to create the optimal manufacturing characteristics for your product (weld strength, torque, etc.).
Our experienced engineers and applications experts will work with you to determine the best laser technology and welding system for your application.
Lasers
In order to meet your specific needs PECo integrates lasers from many manufacturers including IPG, Rofin-Sinar, Trumpf and others. Because PECo has experience integrating many types of lasers, we are able to take a holistic view and recommend the best laser for your unique application.
Standard & Custom Systems
PECo offers both standard and custom laser welding systems designed to produce the highest repeatability and uptime on the market. These can be either standalone systems or integrated into a complete turnkey manufacturing solution.
All PECo laser welding systems are CDRH class 1 compliant and can be integrated to include:
-
gantry systems
-
gas delivery systems for gases such as Helium (He), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Argon (Ar), and others (to help reduce your ongoing cost of consumable gas)
-
gas monitoring systems (to ensure weld quality and decrease operational expense)
-
weld process monitoring stations (to verify each weld’s penetration, width and porosity)
-
seam tracking stations (to verify each weld is in the proper location (no parts leave the system with a good weld in the wrong place!))
-
wire feed option for hybrid welding processes
-
part orientation stations
-
presses
-
washers

Standard Systems
By selecting a standard system you can be assured of a pre-qualified, proven product. Since engineering time is reduced, PECo’s standard systems are generally available for faster delivery and at a lower cost. Each system can be built with the laser of your choice.
-
Round Part Welding System – a PECo standard since 1988, this system dominates the U.S. powertrain market with hundreds of installations. All round part welding systems feature vibration isolators, poke-yoke part verification, PECo’s unique positive pressure beam delivery system, and real-time weld power monitoring.
-
Multi-Axis CNC Welding System – for non-circular welds, our multi-axis machine (up to 6 axes) will deliver the beam path necessary to complete your weld. All multi-axis CNC welding systems feature vibration isolators, poke-yoke part verification, PECo’s unique positive pressure beam delivery system, and real-time weld power monitoring.
Custom Systems
Unlike other custom system manufacturers, PECo uses field-proven sub-assemblies integrated to meet your application’s unique welding needs. By using pre-qualified operational modules your risk is greatly reduced as well as the time required to engineer and build your system. All these factors result in a proven system at a non “custom” price. Your custom laser welding system can be built with the laser of your choice.
With over 20 years of experience building Laser Welding Systems and hundreds of satisfied customers, you can count on PECo to meet your Laser Welding System needs.
